Information checked 24 October 2026
Our #1 pick is EZ Loan. It advertises rates from 0.82% per month for eligible applicants and is featured in SingSaver’s licensed-moneylender guide. Its published starting rate, together with a choice of Beach Road and Marina Square branches, gives you concrete reasons to consider an EZ quote.[16][5][14]
Our #2 pick is Best Licensed Moneylender, with advertised rates from 1.01% per month for eligible applicants and a dedicated MoneySmart review. Cash Direct, Friday Finance and Monetium Credit complete our five-lender ranking.[17][21]
Start with the published rates below, then compare the fees and repayment schedule in your own written offers. A starting rate is not a promise of approval or the rate every borrower will receive.[16][17]
This is EZ Loan’s editorial ranking of five selected lenders, including ourselves. It is not an independent market-wide ranking, a lowest-price league table or a personalised loan offer.
The table separates advertised starting rates, published ranges and the legal ceiling. Publisher articles and listings are included as further reading, not as proof that a lender is cheapest or best for every borrower.
| Our rank | Lender | Published interest-rate information | Publisher coverage |
|---|---|---|---|
| #1 | EZ Loan | From 0.82% per month for eligible applicants. Actual rate and fees depend on assessment and approval.[16] | Featured in SingSaver’s licensed-moneylender guide.[5] |
| #2 | Best Licensed Moneylender | From 1.01% per month for eligible applicants; fees apply.[17] | Dedicated MoneySmart review.[21] |
| #3 | Cash Direct | Its website states 2% to 4% per month, subject to terms and conditions. Confirm the rate and calculation basis for your offer.[11] | SingSaver guide and MoneySmart product listing.[5][27] |
| #4 | Friday Finance | From 0.88% per month, subject to the offered terms.[12] | Dedicated MoneySmart review.[23] |
| #5 | Monetium Credit | Request a personal rate and repayment schedule. Its personal-loan page explains the legal cap rather than a starting offer.[20] | Loan Advisor lender profile and reviews.[25] |
The 4% monthly interest ceiling applies to licensed moneylenders generally, including EZ and Best. It is not a default rate to assign to a lender whose starting rate is unclear.[19]
Fees matter too. The permitted loan-grant fee is up to 10% of the principal, and a late-repayment fee is capped at S$60 for each month of late repayment. Interest, late interest, the upfront administration fee and late fees together cannot exceed the principal borrowed. These are legal limits, not a statement of what every lender charges.[19]
We considered published rate information, registered locations, application details and publisher coverage. The legal businesses behind all five appear in the Ministry of Law’s list dated 1 October 2026. Friday Finance appears under IFS Consumer Services Private Limited.[14]
The order reflects the lenders we have chosen to feature, with EZ and Best leading our editorial picks. We have not assigned numerical quality scores or ranked these lenders solely by interest rate, approval chances or customer outcomes.
EZ’s published starting rate of 0.82% per month is a useful starting point if interest cost is a priority. Ask what rate you qualify for and what the complete repayment would be, including fees. The advertised minimum depends on approval and borrower profile.[16]
EZ is also featured in SingSaver’s guide to licensed moneylenders. Use the listing as background reading, then compare the terms in EZ’s written offer. Inclusion is not an independent test of price or service.[5]
EZ Loan Pte Ltd holds licence 19/2026 in the dated register, with premises at Beach Road and Marina Square. Choosing the more convenient location can make it easier to attend the required appointment.[14]
You can start an EZ application online, then complete the in-person assessment and identity checks. Use the appointment to ask about your payment dates and fees before deciding whether to proceed.[16]
Consider EZ if you want to explore its published starting rate and discuss the actual offer at a convenient branch.
Best combines a published starting rate of 1.01% per month for eligible applicants with a dedicated MoneySmart personal-loan review. The review covers the product’s rates, fees and application process, giving you another source to consult before speaking with Best.[17][21]
Its registered office is at 13 North Bridge Road, Golden Beach Vista.[14] Best’s website describes an online start followed by in-person verification and signed loan terms. It also lists bank transfer, PayNow and in-person repayment options.[17]
Those details make Best worth considering if the location and payment arrangements suit you. Ask its team for a schedule you can compare with EZ’s: the same loan request and repayment period, with fees and every payment shown. The starting rate alone does not settle which offer is the better fit.
Cash Direct provides another option if Jurong East is convenient. Its registered address is on Jurong Gateway Road. It appears in SingSaver’s guide and has a MoneySmart product listing.[14][5][27]
Pay particular attention to the rate basis. Cash Direct’s own website quotes 2% to 4% per month, subject to terms and conditions. This is a published range, not a confirmed offer for your circumstances.[11]
Ask Cash Direct which rate is available for your application, how interest is calculated and what the total payable would be. Confirm the rate period before comparing it with another offer.

Friday Finance advertises interest from 0.88% per month, an administration fee of up to 10%, and a 50% refund of that fee after full and timely repayment, subject to its terms. MoneySmart also has a dedicated review of its personal loan.[12][23]
The refund is a condition to examine, not an upfront fee waiver. Ask how much is charged initially, when a refund would be paid and what happens if a payment is late. Compare the amount you must pay before any refund as well as the amount after a refund you qualify for.[12]
Friday Finance’s registered business is IFS Consumer Services Private Limited, at Singapore Post Centre.[14]
Our EZ Loan vs Friday Finance comparison explains how to assess the starting rate and conditional refund together.[29]
Monetium Credit’s registered office is at Sim Lim Tower, Jalan Besar, and Loan Advisor carries a lender profile and reviews for it.[14][25]
Its personal-loan page describes the application, face-to-face verification and written contract. The rate information explains the statutory cap, so ask Monetium for the rate and repayment schedule it would offer you rather than treating 4% as its quoted price.[20]
If this location suits you, request the same amount and repayment period used for your other enquiries. Check the fees and due dates alongside the interest rate.
Give each lender the same loan request. Then ask for the following information in writing:
Your loan-offer checklist
Cash received: How much reaches you after any upfront deductions?
Interest and fees: What is the rate period, how is interest calculated and what fees apply?
Repayment schedule: What is each payment amount and due date, including the final payment?
Total payable: What will you pay across the full term, and does the stated total include fees?
Conditional benefits: Does a refund depend on repayment behaviour, and when would it be paid?
This checklist helps you compare actual commitments rather than headline percentages. The Ministry of Law advises borrowers to understand the repayment schedule, interest and fees, and to borrow only what they can repay.[19]
No. 4% per month is the maximum permitted interest rate, not a compulsory price. Starting rates, approved rates and fees are different pieces of information; use the written offer to establish your own terms.[19]
No. EZ’s advertised minimum is for eligible applicants. Approval, the actual rate, fees and repayment terms depend on assessment and borrower profile.[16]
No. A guide entry or product review gives you another source to read. It does not establish that the lender will approve your application or offer you the lowest total cost. Confirm the available rate, fees and repayment schedule with the lender.
No. You may be able to start an application online, but Ministry of Law guidance requires physical identity verification at the lender’s approved place of business before a loan is granted.[31]
Write down how much you need and the repayment you can manage alongside your existing commitments. Check the lender’s document requirements before your appointment. EZ’s documents guide covers identity, income and address documents.[28]
If EZ’s published starting rate and branch options suit your shortlist, enquire with EZ Loan. Ask for the rate, fees and full repayment schedule available for your circumstances. Review the written terms before accepting a loan.
This article provides general information. Published rates and features can change; your approved contract determines your obligations.
